SALT PEPPER KETCHUP

“Being from Philadelphia and living in a neighborhood that is currently being gentrified, I felt a duty to give voice to my community. Whenever I go back home to visit, I realized that the community I grew up in is quickly leaving, and what is so fascinating to me is that the Bodegas and Chinese Take-Outs are not. Stores like Master Wok were here before I was born and will probably remain after my new neighborhood is complete. Being here in San Francisco is really ironic because it feels like a living cautionary tale of gentrification. The leading question of SALT PEPPER KETCHUP is ‘How would immigrant business owners in the hood react if the threat of gentrification walked into their store?’” - Josh Wilder, Creator
