2023 PERFORMING ARTIST AUDITION WORKSHOP
Presented by African-American Shakespeare Co and SFBATCO
We're happy to invite you to join us for the second year of the Audition Workshop Series hosted by African-American Shakespeare Company (AASC) and the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Company (SFBATCO).
This year we have a revamped 3-track program that will offer something for folks of all backgrounds:
Track 1: General Audition Skills
Saturdays, 10AM - 1PM, April 29th - June 3rd
Join us for a 6-week journey towards becoming a more polished and confident auditioner. Learn the core skills you’ll need to be successful at professional stage and TV auditions and get the chance to network with other actors, directors, and industry professionals.
Track 2: Vocal Audition Skills
Fridays, 6PM - 9PM, May 5th - May 26th
Looking to expand your repertoire and make your mark on the world of musical theater? This 4-week series will round out your basis in vocal performance and allow you to explore areas of opportunity to continue your growth.
Track 3: Embodying the Classics - A Masterclass with L. Peter Callender
Wednesdays, 6PM - 9PM, May 10th - May 31st
A 4-week masterclass led by nationally acclaimed, award-winning actor, professional acting coach and director, and Artistic-Director of African-American Shakespeare Company, L. Peter Callender. These intensive sessions will explore and highlight character development and create a better understanding of how to embody character through text and physical mechanics.
Follow just one track or multiple depending on your schedule and your own goals as an artist.
We will be hosting TWO Program Orientations for the program as whole: one in person on Saturday, April 22nd from 10AM - 12PM and another online on Wednesday, April 26th from 5:30PM to 7:30PM.
Attendance at one of these orientations will be required to complete your registration in the programs.
NOTE: Priority registration will be given to Black and African-American SF Residents.
